Our Remote Swimming Performance Consultation takes an individual approach at enhancing performance. Quit accepting that working harder is all it takes. Hard work combined with perfect programming is the key to elite swimming performance! Swimming performance is a multifactorial equation requiring detailed evaluation and intervention. At COR, we strive for “making you better”, no matter your goal. We are very methodical about our approach and unlike others, we’re not going to give you a program just to workout hard. If you are looking simply for a workout, go run up a hill. We’re looking to make you better. This is the process we’ve used with Olympic Gold Medalists.

Many people have tried different trainers, coaches, and private training sessions, creating skepticism of these claims. Sometimes other systems provide short-term results, while others provide no improvement. At COR, we take a systematic look at each individual, not just having someone hop on a treadmill! We unlock the underlying problem and provide the solution!

Dr. John Mullen

Dr. John Mullen, DPT, CSCS is a World renowned expert and speaker in sports training and rehabilitation. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at USC, as well as the Josette Antonelli Division Service Scholarship, Order of the Golden Cane, and the Order of Areté. At USC, he also performed research on swimming biomechanics and lung adaptations in swimming training. Dr. John has worked with multiple professional and Olympic athletes, helping them earn Olympic medals. His dedication to research and individualization spurred him to open COR in 2011. Since 2011, Dr. John has been featured in Gizmodo, Motherboard, Stack Magazine, Swimming World Magazine, Swimmer Magazine, USA Swimming, USA Triathlon, Swimming Science, and many more.  Before his Doctoral program, Dr. John swam on an athletic scholarship at Purdue University. At Purdue, Dr. John was an Academic Honorable Mention All-American and was awarded the Red Mackey Award and R. O. Papenguh Award. He also won the Purdue Undergraduate business plan and elevator pitch competition, as well as 1st prize with the Indiana Soy Bean Alliance. Dr. John was born in Centerville, Ohio and was a 24-time high school All-American Swimmer. Dr. John is still a swimmer and holds a Masters swimming World and Pacific Swimming Record.

What to Expect

  2. Before session waiver paperwork must be completed
  3. You’ll receive link to Google Hangouts on Air, login prior to appointment time.  Google Hangouts on Air link (see here
  4. Swimming Performance Coach will ask you questions (see below) for 15 minutes and uncover the biggest are you can improve.

The coach will perform a systematic subjective evaluation, conversing on the following topics:

  • Your current physical limitations and injuries.
  • Swimming strengths.
  • Swimming weaknesses.
  • Past physical limitations and injuries.
  • Current training regimen.
  • Areas of strengths and weaknesses.
  • Current nutritional and supplement program.
  • Mental association with food and nutrition.
  • How much you sleep and your sleep routine.
  • Your mental state during training.

A no-show or late cancellation fee (less than 24 hours notice before session) results in a charge of $22.50 USD.
